(she/her)

Alyssa "Lyss" Wheeler, a versatile creative born and raised in Brooklyn, has been deeply engaged in a myriad of artistic endeavors throughout her life. Initially drawn to the world of theater, she progressively immersed herself in the realm of dance, specializing in Liturgical and Modern styles. Beyond her prowess in dance, Wheeler is a skilled portrait photographer, channeling her artistic vision into her photography business, Lyssuals, where she captures the beauty and life experiences of Black women. Her artistic and leadership skills contributed to the inception of CreativeSoul, where she served as Founding Vice President. In 2023, Wheeler was honored as a Brooklyn Academy of Music Creative Career Fellow. She also serves as a photographer for B.A.M., capturing images of the budding youth artists part of their education programs. Her artistry extends to her roles as a dancer for both MEC Multimedia Dance Ensemble Theatre (founding company member) and The R.E.A.C.H. Collective (TRC). Alyssa’s first piece as a TRC member was the Solitude's Piece Debut in Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning's 2023 Makin’ Moves Dance Festival. Not confined to the stage, Wheeler has made significant contributions in various capacities, both behind the scenes in production and as a talent for Creative Media Group. In early 2024, Wheeler worked as both an arts administrator and dancer simultaneously for Medgar Evers College’s inaugural Renaissance Arts Festival, a 2-day multimedia festival centering community outreach, dance, spoken word, and appreciation for the African Diaspora. Alyssa is now excited and honored to embark on her new journey as the Director of Communications for The R.E.A.C.H. Collective. Her multifaceted talents and dedication showcase a remarkable journey through the diverse landscapes of the arts.
